Design Thinking for Gifted and High Ability Learners (90 Minutes)

Twice exceptional, non-verbally gifted students often possess skills in problem solving and design. These students can be poor at reading and writing but be incredibly creative and practical. They can design the most amazing garden sheds, pizza ovens or rebuild computers, but they can’t write a sentence to explain their abilities. The process of visualization and design, and the associated steps taken to create, can enable extraordinary outcomes for these individuals. Once created, the barriers to writing are broken and the student can write. Come and find out how and at the same time learn about how we as educators can best serve these students.
